Wrestling History |
| Sophomore year I wrestled 215. Took
5th at districts and participated in regionals. Junior
year I wrestled 215 after dropping 15 pounds preseason.
Took 3rd in the Ellensburg tournament and 2nd in the Jaguar
Invite and 3rd in districts. Senior year I dropped
from 245 to 215 during preseason and took 5th in Blaine, 4th
in Pac Coast, 1st in Ellensburg and 2nd in Jaguar Invite,
1st in districts, 4th in regionals, and was a state
participant. |

Ian had some battles with
two-time state titlist Kevin Kooyman of Tahoma, beating him
more than once. Ian was one of the most physically strong
wresters Kentwood has ever had, and whoever he was facing
was in for a 6 minute battle that would really test their
endurance. Ian definitely put fear in the hearts of
anyone he would wrestle, because at any time Ian could use
his strength to turn the tables on even the highest ability
