Wrestling History

Sr Year: 4th in State; 1st in Regionals; 2nd in district; and 2nd in Ray Westberg Inv..

My best memories come from senior year. Actually wrestling in tournaments like Pac Coast, Battle at the Border, and State. The trips to the tournaments were always fun. Cody Quinn and Luke Angevine were always singing along to oldies on the way and Nathan's mom always made the BEST breakfast burritos for everyone. But by far, my best moment from wrestling was feeling the adrenaline rush after my first win at state. So much gratification after 4 seasons of conditioning, practice, and dreaming of that moment.

Current News

Currently I am attending Green River Community College in pursuit of my AA degree. Then it's off to (hopefully) Arizona State University to earn my bachelors in Biochemistry and to wrestle for the Sun Devils. I still play guitar everyday and I am also recording my self and local musicians doing what they (and I) do best.

Coaches' Memories

Shawn was a difficult match up for anyone he wrestled.  He is really tall and agile for his size.  When Shawn got himself into shape, it was going to be tough for anyone to wrestle him.  At 215, he out conditioned and had much more technique than most of the guys he came up against.  I will always remember coaches coming up to me before Shawn wrestled and asking why he wasn’t playing basketball.  After watching Shawn wrestle, not many of them had any more questions.
