Wrestling History

I was a three year varsity wrestler at Kentwood at the 215lb and heavyweight divisions. I was also a captain my senior year. The best memories of my High School career come from my wrestling experiences. Whether it was getting my hand raised in victory at the end of the match or working like a dog on the practice mats with my teammates. Tournaments had to be the most fun though. It was always a riot in Anderson's van with Nathan and Havner telling stories.

One of the funniest memories that I have was senior year after the Battle at the Boarder. We were on our way home and stopped at Wendy’s to grab a bite to eat. I do believe that the challenge of a four patty burger was thrown out to Dan Onisor. He graciously accepted and got an extra patty on his triple stack for only 89 extra cents. I can still picture it today as Sroka, Anderson, and I watched Onisor put down a four patty burger with no problem followed by fries and a frosty to go. The laughter experienced was unbelievable.

My senior year was great fun as I placed first in two tournaments and placed in many others. I achieved my goal of making it to the State Tournament.
